Now that the election is over and the ballots have been counted, the following is a rundown of this year's election results. As you know, there was only one contested race with two extremely qualified candidates: your new B-Shift Vice President is Rob Contreras. A special election will be held next year to fill the Executive Board Member position vacated by Rob. The referendum on the ballot for the creation of a Local 1171 building fund also passed with a large majority, so efforts to find an appropriate new home for Local 1171 will continue. Since there were a number of Executive Board officers who were elected or re-elected by acclimation at the November meeting, the following is a rundown of the Local 1171 Executive Board, effective Jan. 1, 2010. Note: It is common for Shift Vice-President positions to be exchanged/rotated to accommodate cross-shift moves due to bids, promotions, etc. The Executive Board will consider such a realignment in the near future.
