SENIOR ASSIST PROGRAM The Senior Assist Program is a yard clean-up program designed to help senior citizens within the City of Santa Clara. The Firefighters of The City of Santa Clara, International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1171, volunteer their off duty time to make this program work. This is not a yard maintenance program. It is, however a one time clean up. The criteria are as follows:* Those senior citizens who are not physically capable to do their own yard work * Those senior citizens who are not mentally capable to do their own yard work * Those senior citizens who are not financially capable of contracting out for yard work * Those senior citizens who do not have help through relatives and/or friends If anyone has any comments, suggestions, or questions about this program, or if you would like to book a date for assistance, please contact Bill Stone at sharker@firedept.net.
