Local 1171 Goes to Burn Camp

Dear Firefighters,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the Union's support while I was at the Alicia Ann Ruch Burn Camp.  To have the opportunity to participate in such a great program has enriched me in ways I could have never imagined.

The Burn Camp is the only opportunity for some children to feel "normal".  This one-week is the best week of the year for many of the participants.  I am grateful to have had an opportunity to be a part of it.

By allowing me one day off from work, it made it easier to schedule and participate.  This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.  I highly encourage the members of the Fire Department to consider participating, and for Local 1171 to continue its much-appreciated support.
