Santana Row Fire

Local 1171 Fire Fighters provided much needed assistance to our Brothers and Sisters in San Jose, Local 230, when in August 2002 a catastrophic accident in the new construction at Stevens Creek and Winchester caused a huge and dangerous fire, which resulted in the Santana Row, Moorpark Village Condominiums, and Moorpark Gardens Apartment Complex fires.

In October 2002, the Santa Clara Fire Department received an California State Assembly Resolution of commendation for their outstanding contribution to suppressing the fire and preventing a major conflagration.
